14 Aug 2016

In cooperation with the Equal Citizenship Center in Syria ECC, IFE-EFI organized 2 back-to-back workshops for a group of 20 Syrian lawyers on The Gender Approach in Syrian Legislation. The first titled "Promoting women’s political participation and strengthening their presence in decision making positions (political rights)" which took place on 8 and 9 August 2016, and the second "Developing the legal system relating to women’s social rights" took place on 10 and 11 August 2016.

Both workshops were conducted in Beirut by Dr. Souhair Fourati, a professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Sfax - Tunis and aimed at developing the lawyers abilities in identifying the gaps in the current laws and drafting reformed ones that ensure equality and non-descrimination between women and men and amongst women themselves.
