Syria, image theater

The "image theater" is part of the project "Mobile School On Citizenship and Gender Equality" supported by EFI in the framework of the program “Towards sustainable peace and democracy in Syria through strengthening civil society and women’s rights” funded by Sweden. Its objective is to contribute to building an inclusive Syrian society with women, men, youth and Children equipped with awareness and best practices on citizenship and gender equality. The actions implemented by the Syrian League for Citizenship aim at  improving the knowledge of Syrian communities on citizenship and gender concepts in Lebanon.

This activity was composed of 8 interactive Civic Education courses for girls and boys aged from 9 to 12 years old attending informal education in Lebanon (Beqaa, Aley, Beirut). As a result of these courses, an exhibition was created using specific theater techniques to allow the children to express their desire of change within their reality. The exhibition focused on the issue of cleanliness in the camps.

This project was carried out by the Syrian League for Citizenship in partnership with the EuroMed Feminist Initiative and in coordination with the Alphabet Association.
