Since its formation on January 19, 2016, the Civil Collective for Individual Liberties, which includes 37 associations for the defense of human rights and in particular individual liberties, has been monitoring, denouncing and condemning violations and attacks of on human rights.
As part of its activities, the Collective made numerous recommendations and followed up the work of the Committee on Freedoms and Equality which was announced on August 13, 2017 by the President of the Republic.
The committee includes a number of multidisciplinary experts headed by human rights and women's rights activist Bochra Belhaj Hmida. The tasks of the Committee on Individual Liberties and Equality are to monitor the reality of freedoms and equality between women and men in Tunisia and propose reforms to the President of the Republic.
This Committee has carried great hopes and aspirations for the human rights of the components of civil society.
