The National Gender Observatory, hosted by the Ministry of State for Economic Empowerment of Women and Youth, held a roundtable on “The role of the Qaim Maqam in combating gender-based violence”. The event was organized with the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities, in partnership with EuroMed Feminist Initiative. It provided the space to discuss Lebanon’s National Action Plan on UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, which was presented by the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW). The Action Plan prioritizes the promotion of safety and protection of women across the country.
