In the frame of the project "Enhancing women’s Participation in Decision-Making and Peacebuilding Processes in Syria" funded by the European Union, an online roundtable on Supporting a Survivor-led Justice Movement was organized on 30 July 2020. It was organized by the EuroMed Feminist Initiative in partnership with Legal Action Worldwide (LAW).
In the frame of the project "Enhancing women’s Participation in Decision-Making and Peacebuilding Processes in Syria" funded by the European Union, six online consultations on "Building a Common Agenda for Combating Violence Against Women and Girls" were organized in May and June 2020 with 80 Syrian CSOs active in Europe, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.
Two experts’ meetings entitled " Women's Participation in the Peace Building Process in Syria" were held in Gaziantep on 5 December 2019 and in Beirut on 19 December 2019.
Two workshops on Gender, Violence and Human Rights Violations were held in Gaziantep on 3 and 4 December 2019 and in Beirut on 17 and 18 December 2019
EuroMed Feminist Initiative and the Coalition of Syrian Women for Democracy held a civil society consultation in March 2020 in Beirut on developing guidelines for implementation of Women, Peace and Security Agenda (WPSA) in the South Mediterranean, with particular focus on the Syrian crises.
EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) and the Coalition of Syrian Women for Democracy (CSWD) held a civil society consultation meeting on the 9th and 10th of March 2020 in Beirut on developing guidelines for Women, Peace and Security Agenda (WPSA) in Syria.
The EuroMed Feminist Initiative organized a training on the “Provision of Legal and Psychosocial Support to Women Survivors of Gender-Based Violence” of a program funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation (SIDA). The training was held from the 7th to the 11th of October 2019 in Beirut. It gathered 20 Syrian participants, from service providers, caseworkers, lawyers and volunteers working with local communities, refugees and internal displaced persons.
Ms. Joumana Seif, lawyer and women rights activists, participated at the International Conference Women's court: Feminist access to justice and shared the story of Syrian women: from the organization of feminist rebellions to the creation of networks inside and outside Syria. She also explained how sexual violence is used as a weapon and stressed the necessity of Transitional Justice in Syria.
