Towards a Democratic Transition in Syria Through an Inclusive Constitution Building Process

The overall objective of the program is to contribute to a non-violent political transition and building a broader democracy and civil society platform.

The specific objectives of the program are:

  • Stronger and more numerous member CSOs of the coalition are networking, coordinating and sharing information on national, regional and international levels.
  • A wide-constitution building process inclusive of women's rights and gender equality is taking place in Syria.
  • Instalment of spaces and channels for dialogues among women's rights and human rights CSOs, different decision making actors and stakeholders favouring mutual understanding on women's rights and democracy building.

IFE-EFI High Level Conference on engendering the Syrian Constitution

In partnership with the Coalition of Syrian Women for Democracy, the High Level Conference “Building an Inclusive, Gender-Sensitive Constitution: A Syrian Path towards Democracy” kick started on May 30th in Belgium's capital Brussels, with 30 participants from Syria’s women and human rights activists and lawyers, and concluded on June 1st 2016.

Partners Training on Project Cycle Management

Euromed Feminist Initiative IFE-EFI arranged an organizational development training workshop on Project Cycle Management - Project Design & Logframes for its Syrian partner organizations and staff. The 5-day workshop took place in Beirut from the 11th to the 15th of July 2016 and was carried out by The International Center for Organizational Development (ICOD).

IFE-EFI partner organization Musawa holds a workshop for refugee women in Beirut

Musawa | Women's study center, our partners in the project "Towards a Democratic Transition in Syria through an inclusive Constitution Building Process" held a 3 day workshop for 30 Syrian refugee women in Beirut to discuss the topic of Feminist civil work and the imortance of organizing and mobilizing as groups and individuals.
