From 5 to 9 September 2022, the EuroMed Feminist Initiave (EFI), together with a group of Syrian activists and experts conducted a study trip in Tunisia to meet multiple feminist associations and human rights organisations.

The participations exchanged experiences and expertise on the challenges faced by the civil society and notably women’s associations, the violence against women and girls, and the need for protection mechanisms for women (shelters). They also discussed the importance of protecting economic and social rights of the most vulnerable groups, gender equality and the necessary involvement of men in Syria and Tunisia in combating VAWG. Furthermore they underlined the necessity to reinforce advocacy activities through alliance building, and networking while highlighting the current difficulties of turning recommendations into actions.
