Training of Trainers on the ABC for a gender-sensitive constitution

EuroMed Feminist Initiative organized a 5-day training of trainers on the “ABC for a gender-sensitive Constitution” in Beirut, Lebanon. The event gathered 10 Syrian participants, from lawyers, human rights defenders, women rights activists and volunteers working with local communities on women’s rights and on women’s participation in all aspects of public life.

Enlarging IFE-EFI from the two shores of the Middle East

Following the Board meeting of European Feminist Initiative IFE-EFI, the Board of IFE-EFI and MENA partners coming from 16 countries, held a common meeting on 9th of April 2014 at the European Parliament and formally agreed on the enlargement of the European Feminist Initiative into the Euro-Med Feminist Initiative (IFE-EFI). Our Beloved Friend Afaf Marie Passed Away

Afaf Marie, member of the Executive Committee of Euromed Feminist Initiative IFE-EFI passed away. She was with us in Paris a couple of weeks ago for our executive committee meeting and she told us that she would have a new surgery. She was always facing her health challenges with such a courage that we just planned with her our next meeting with the usual to do list for the one and the others for the coming weeks.

The Meeting of Task Force 1325 on Implementation of National Action Plan for UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, Baghdad - House of Representatives - May 24, 2015

On 24th May 2015 the Iraqi Task Force for the implementation of NAP1325 held its working session in the Iraqi parliament. The session was supported and opened by the Speaker of the Parliament, Dr. Salim Al-Jubouri, who is the Honorary Chair of the Task Force. Boriana Jonsson, Executive Director Euromed Feminist Initiative participated at the meeting.

European Feminist Initiative IFE-EFI, recently enlarged to Euro-Med Feminist Initiative IFE-EFI, is a Euro-Med policy network encompassing women’s rights organizations from 25 countries from the two shores of the Mediterranean and from Caucasus. IFE-EFI advocates for gender equality and women’s rights as full part of democracy and citizenship, for the right of peoples to self-determination, against militarism, war and occupation.

Euromed Feminist Initiative discuss cooperation with Ombudsman Office for Gender Equality, Croatia

During the work trip to Croatia, Boriana Jonsson and Lilian Halls visited the Office of Ombudsman for Gender Equality on 27 July 2015. They were received by the Deputy Ombudsman, Mr. Goran Selanec and Media Adviser Mrs. Nevenka Sudar.
